Just found an intresting article on the Help The Law Student’s typepad blog which discusses the truancy in schools rising again.
Personally I think it boils down to the parents and the discipline they have in place. Although saying that my parents had very good discipline with me and my brother and that didn't stop him skipping school a few times throughout the years.
